Conor Duggan 2nd from the right with the Irish Junior Men's 4x100m Team

Massive congratulations to Conor Duggan who has been selected for the Irish Junior Men’s 4x100m relay team who travel to Eskilstuna, Sweden shortly to contest the European Junior Championships from the 16th - 19th July.

It’s a huge honour for both Conor and the club to be selected for such a prestigious event and it is testament to the hard work that Conor and his coaches have consistently put in from a young age. You can read more about Conor’s progress over the years from a report I wrote last year when he claimed the National U18 sprint title.

His progress should be an inspiration for all of our athletes and we reckon Conor may now be the 2nd fastest Galway man ever, behind the great Paul Hession. Equally inspirational, Sineád Treacy just missed out on making the Women's Junior team for the same championships and is first-reserve for the team should any team member fall ill or injured. Well done Sineád!

Best of luck Conor in Eskilstuna! And keep up the hard work everyone else – greatness awaits you!
