Huge congratulations to former member of the club Cillian McDaid who is poised to head to the Aussie Rules league. Cillian was a member of the club for many years winning many Galway and Connacht medals and a National silver as part of the Craughwell team in the U12 Boys National Cross-country Championahips in 2012.

Swapping the Irish climate of rain and mud for the life of a professional athlete in sun-baked Australia was a tough decision I'm sure :-).

And huge well done also to his parents Garvan and Louise for helping him to reach such heights! I know from his younger years and also from chatting to Garvan the massive dedication to sport that Cillian has. He is an inspiration to others in our club and the locality of what can be achieved when you dedicate yourself to an activity.  So well done again to Cillian and hopefully it works out brilliantly for him in Australia!
