The Claregalway 10K road race takes place on Saturday, 19th August at 6:00pm. The entry fee is €15, €5 of which goes to Galway Hospice. This race is the official AAI 10K road race championship, so winners get medals!
There is no need to register for this race in advance. Simply turn up and register on the day. Tom Kilgarriff's club (Claregalway AC) are the organisers of this race, and Tom will actually be taking the registrations on the day.
The race starts at 6:00pm sharp. You should aim to be there by about 5pm to give yourself enough time to register and do a warm-up.
Registration, and changing facilities will be in the Leisure Centre in Claregalway. The race is a single circuit through the countryside around Claregalway, start is at the National School (about 5 minutes jog from the Leisure Centre), finish is at the Leisure Centre. The course is pretty flat so a good one for posting a pb.
Mike is hoping to field a team, so if you do plan to attend the race, use the comment thread from this posting to let people know of your plans and to describe your experience.
