 Tuam 8k 13/1/08

Despite weather forecast doom and gloom tuam ac 8k went off in warm winter sunshine and a moderate breeze. The two-lap course is mainly flat and finishes just outside the impressive cathedral. It was great to see Irelands Maria McCambridge

in action accompanied by her husband Garry Crossan. Gary finished in an impressive 25.34 taking 2nd place on the day only 18 seconds adrift of mayo AC’s John Byrne. Maria dominated the women’s race taking first place in an astonishing 26.37 only 1 second off our own Martin Corcoran and in 5th overall on the day.

Congratulations to David Porter on his comfortable victory in the junior race earlier in the palace grounds. Linda Porter took 1st and  Laura Porter was 2nd in the girls race making it 1st 2nd and 4th for the Porters overall. Well done also to the many Craughwell A.C. juveniles who put in fine runs on the day namely Sophie Rolston, Ciaran Nevin and Ronan Nevin .

(hope I haven’t left anyone out but no results available)

Well Done To You All!
