c10 route new

Where does the time go - it's less than a month to the Craughwell 10 mile road race and Galway AAI 10-Mile Club Championships. The best way to support he event is to sign up as there is still some limited availability and we really want to sell the event out. If you can't make the run, then too bad, but we can still use you on the day! Patrick is coordinating road safety and really wants marshals. The role will be to do all the usual marshal duties - help with parking, stand on a corner pointing the direction, cheering on the competitors, etc. If you can make it then please contact Patrick Cosgrove at This email address is being protected from spambots. I was listening to Ray D'Arcy on the car radio yesterday and he was talking about running. Sometimes it's really hard to motivate yourself to get the gear on and go outside, even though you always feel better when you do. Ray D'Arcy had a good quote to keep in your mind:

"The day you least feel like it, is when you most need it"

Another one for the mental arsenal!

If you haven't signed up for the Craughwell 10, it could be a good idea to do so sooner rather than later as the price of entry will go up in 9 days time. Good luck with the training!

Forget your Runner's world.  The Irish Runner is about the best running magazine you can get.

Why?  Some of the reasons for me are the insider news on Irish elites, the chance that you can see familiar faces (or even yourself) in the crowd at the start of races or better your name in the results!, the recepies which are always easy to make even for a pleb like me.  The training articles are every bit as good as the international magazines.

We actually never highlighted the great write up that the Craughwell 10 got last year in the Irish Runner.  It really was a great day - I wish I saw more of it cooped up in the Principle's office typing up the results!  Thankfully this year we will be using Chip Timing so I'll have a bit more freedom and might even be able to run it. :-)  which I would love!

If you are feeling nostalgic, maybe take a read of the article before you sign up!
