The Craughwell 10 Mile is over for another year. We would like to thank all of the people who help to make this great event happen each year. We were once again blessed with perfect cool calm running conditions which seemed to favour the majority with whispers of many PB’s achieved throughout the field.

Men 2016

Seamus Lynch took Bronze in the GloHealth Masters Indoor Championships 2016 High Jump competition which took part in Athlone IT today,  20/03/2016 in a Jump of 1.45M.  Fantastic performance from Seamus in his first All Ireland competition in 26 years!  Full results are available here.

Cathriona Farrell retained her National Senior High Jump crown in style today with a fine series of jumps in the AIT International Arena. Surprisingly overlooked in the AAI website preview of the event, the stadium record holder and National indoor and outdoor champion cleared 1.75m on her first attempt to claim her 4th National Senior Indoor high jump title in what was one of the most competitive senior high jump event in many years with 4 jumpers clearing 1.70m. Struggling with a knee injury, Cathriona didn’t jump further after the 1.75m but was very pleased with nailing that height on her first attempt.

The national indoor track and field league final was held in Athlone IT last Saturday 6 February.

The Craughwell AC ladies team were back in the final for the third year in a row. Having finished ahead of the winners from the last two years and scoring 57 points, the team still found themselves six points short of a medal winning position as the Dublin city clubs were to the fore this year.

There was a good performance all round from the team in a stronger competition this year. Competing for the Craughwell ladies team in the final was Sarah Finnegan (60m hurdles and triple jump), Cathriona Farrell (high jump), Aisling Keady (long jump), Sinead Treacy (60m, 200m and 4x200m relay), Dearbhaile Walsh (400m), Sinead Gaffney (800m), Caron Ryan (1500m), Michelle Duggan (4x200m relay), Caoilin Milton (4x200m relay), Laura Cunningham (4x200m relay), Melissa Mullins (shot), Edel O'Meara (pole vault) and Lorraine Delaney and Aoife Greene.

Well done to all.
