 With more than seventy registered members now in the Fit4life programme it is Starting to grow legs of its own.The astonishing improvements and bags of determination are paying off, I can’t praise all the participants enough.

Two Craughwell AC Athletes on AAI High Performance Panels!

Congratulations to Anne Loughnane and Cathriona Farrell both of whom are selected as part of Athletics Ireland's High Performance Squads for 2008. Anne is part of a group of 13 athletes in the Developmental Panel while Cathriona is part of a group of 23 athletes in the Junior Achievers Panel. Martin Corcoran takes National Track Silver!

In a superb club-record performance, Martin Corcoran stormed home in 9:25 over 3K at Nenagh Indoor Track  on Saturday to claim the Silver Medal in the National M45 Category.  It is the first time that Martin, who generally dominates his age category in every road race around these parts that he enters, has won track honours at national level and it is an outstanding achievement. In what was her 2nd time competing in the Kelvin International Arena, Cathriona Farrell captured the Scottish U17 High Jump title to add to the Irish and English titles that she won last year.   In a fantastic display of concentration, Cathriona cleared 1.70m on her first attempt to heap the pressure on her competitors. Gallagher delivers the goods in Glasgow

Shaun Gallagher sprinted to a fantastic bronze medal in the U15 400m in Glasgow at the weekend. In his first time ever competing in this event, Shaun ran 65.66 in his heat to qualify as 5th fastest for the final, marginally ahead of his brother Brendan in the other heat.

Craughwell AC’s juvenile club embarked on its most ambitious undertaking in its history last weekend when travelling to Glasgow for the Scottish U13, U15 and U17 Indoor Championships. Plans were made as far back as last September and as excitement mounted, the weekend finally arrived with the main group travelling by coach to Shannon Friday night and from there to Glasgow Prestwick/PIK.
