On a day when Gebrasalaisse once again broke the world record for the marathon, pushing it further into the region of the impossible at 2:03:59, our very own Val Fogarty ran in his footsteps and achieved a personal goal – dipping under the 4-hour mark for the distance.  Well done Val – as ever an inspiration to all!!

Huge participation in secondary schools multi-events

Athletes from the club competed in huge numbers in the Connacht Secondary School's Combined Events held yesterday in Dangan. The club is very proud of the fact that it has grown its number of athletes in the teenage age groups from 12 athletes in 2002 to over 80 today.   We will be starting term 5 Tuesday the 16th at 8:30 in Craughwell National School car park.  As always the fee will be 20 euros for 10 weeks. Juvenile training has resumed at the usual times on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Craughwell NS. Check out the juvenille information sheet for training times.
