Craughwell AC was one of two Galway sports clubs selected to receive a 2008 Texaco Sportstar Bursary Award, the other club been Mervue United FC. 2.37.40 marathon for Mark Davis!!

Word is filtering through of Mark Davis's exceptional run in today's Dublin City Marathon. Mark's unofficial time is 2.37.40 – an incredible achievement. 26 6-minute miles back to back! Thats somewhere between 6 mins and 6 mins 1 sec per mile! For the juveniles in the club who are more familar with running 800m races, thats just under 3 minutes per 800m but you have to run 53 of them in a row without any break! Well done Mark! Read on…

Tuam Rain Fails to Dampen Craughwell Performances!

Juvenile and senior athletes from the club took to the field at the Palace Grounds on Sunday in atrocious weather conditions for the juvenile uneven ages and senior cross country. The club had a total of 52 athletes across all of the races – a fantastic participation rate.

A large number of athletes from the club made the 2-hour journey northwards last weekend to take part in the Connacht Primary Schools Cross Country Championships which were held in Hazelwood Community Pitch in Calry, Sligo. Advice needed! To run or not to run?
