New national record for Olive Loughnane!

Local hero Olive of Loughrea AC continues her fantastic form with a super national record in the 10k walk. She posted a remarkable time of 43:22 for the 10 kilometers walk in a race in Russia. Congratulations to her from all at Craughwell AC. I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t see her in next weekends athletics extravaganza in Loughrea.

After a bit of a break, this weekend sees a welcome return to racing around Galway with Castledaley 10k, followed next week by Loughrea 5. Due to the onset of the dark evenings the Fit4life session on Tuesday nights will be moved to 8:45 pm . Club Trip to Scotland 2010!!!

The juvenile club plans to organise its 3rd outing to the Scottish Indoor track & field in February 2010. The Scottish Indoors is open to competitors from Ireland and is a wonderful opportunity for athletes from the club to compete abroad. A large group travelled on our first excursion in 2007 and a smaller group in 2008. On both occasions, athletes and parents had a highly enjoyable time. We plan to go again in February 2010.
