    Linda Porter delivered an incredible return to form in Nenagh today in the U17 Girls 1500m at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships in Nenagh when winning the National title in fine style. News filtered across the Irish sea earlier today of Conor Gillen's fantastic race as Ireland's 6th man home in the Schools International Cross Country in England. Having taken the 8th qualifying spot on the Irish team, Conor put in an exceptional performance to finish in the final scoring place for the Irish team and help the team to the bronze medals in the process. Craughwell 10 Final Results

Sorry it took so long for me to cross-check the results against the video.  The final results are up here.  There were a few changes to the category prizes.  Notably Craughwell ladies team passed out Loughrea into 3 place in the Galway Championships due to a mystery male runner posing as one of the Loughrea ladies.  Also –  the results are completed with all the higher age categories.  Well done again to everyone that helpd make this such a fun event.

  Kilconerion charity road race was a great sucess again this year raising 1800 euro for the Alan Kerins charity.  To date the race has profited 5000 euro, from two annual road races and a special tribute night for local sports star Olive Loughnane . Last year the organisers gave 1500 to the charity Bothar. Earlier on this year over 1500 euro was awarded to local Senator Ciaran Cannon and Councillor Michael Meaher  for their cycle to Lourdes in aid…

Best of luck to Conor Gillen who competes for Ireland this weekend when taking on the best runners from Ireland and Great Britain at the International Schools cross-country in England. This is hopefully the first of many internationals for Conor and is a just recognition of his exceptional talent and hopefully just a stepping stone to greater things. Galway Community Games Cross Country

The Galway qualifying round for the National Community Games cross-country finals was held in Tuam last Sunday. The fine record of the club's athletes (and former members!) in qualifying on Galway teams was upheld brialliantly. Grainne McDaid got the day off to a terrific start with a fine victory in the U12 Girls 600m, with Leanne Freaney finishing just outside the automatic 6 qualifying places that will make up the Galway team for the National finals.
