Glorious weather conditions prevailed for this years Community Games which was held for the first time on the bank holiday Monday. Considering there was a lot of local sporting action on the same day, there was a good crowd in attendance. Sunday last saw the inaugural running of the “Great Limerick Run” and not to put a total damper on it the organisers got a lot of things right. Some of our gang had a fantastic time and on the day in the marathon and half marathon, properly measured if unusual! Many of our club runners set new PB’s. Well done to all of you! Last night saw the second 5k in the series go off like clockwork in Tuam and with the weather back to favourable running conditions ,most people posted quicker times than last week and everyone seemed to have enjoyed their run ,Craughwell took the win again with Mark posting a nearly identicle time and Peter made a welcome return to snap up 3rd place closely followed by Johnny in fifth .Nice work lads!Well done to the organisers it was a great move…
Craughwell AC are launching a new multi-sport summer camp this July and August. Its aimed at children aged from 13 years old down to 6 years old, and introduces the sport of athletics through a wide range of fun and games. It will cater for complete beginners or children already doing athletics. Discounts are available if already a member of an athletic club.
