Dearbhaile Claims National Bronze with Galway 4x500m Team

Dearbhaile Claims National Bronze with Galway 4x500m Team

Dearbhaile Walsh had a super run today as part of the Co. Galway 4x500m in the National Inter-county Relays in Dublin. By all accounts, it was an atrocious day and the worst ever underfoot conditions. But the tough conditions suited the Ardrahan girl as she tore around the course to help Galway to well-deserved medals. Dearbhaile was the 3rd runner and received the baton from GCH's Sarah McDonald with the team in 2nd place after good runs by both Sarah…

Updated Juvenile Fixture List

Updated Juvenile Fixture List

I've updated the juvenile fixture list for the year at:- http://www.craughwellac.com/images/stories/documents/fixtures2011.pdf Perhaps parents could take a look at it and if you're hoping that your athlete will be involved in Connacht or National championships (or internationals), try to plan your holidays around the athletics fixtures during the summer. I know for many that won't be possible but if its easy to do so, its worth doing. If any questions about any of the fixtures, feel free to contact me. thanksMichael

Time to Sign up for Craughwell 10

It's amazing how the time flies and we are less than 7 weeks from the second running of the Craughwell 10.  Last years race sold out several weeks in advance and hopefully the same will happen this year. It would really make our lives easier if people signed up sooner rather than later as it gives us the chance to order stuff and cuts down on waste or worse shortages.  for this reason we plan on increasing the entry fee…

Less than 4 weeks to Kilconeiron

Less than 4 weeks to Kilconeiron

Kilconeiron is a well-supported hidden gem in the Galway road race calendar.  This will be the third running of the event.  I ran it for the first time last year and really loved the route.  for me it has the perfrect blend of challenging route, scenery and great historical sites along the way.  Each year a different charity is chosen for the event, and this year the organisers have decided to donate the funds to AWARE which aids depression sufferers. …
