Maria McNamara’s fine form continued at the National finals of the Irish Schools Combined Events recently in Santry, where she qualified for the Irish Schools International in December with a 3rd place finish in the Intermediate Girls grade. Well done to host club Loughrea AC on another successful running of the Grey Lake 10k today.  Everyone was united in their praise of the race organization and the toughness of the course and conditions! Both the men's and women's races were won by an athlete of real quality. Athletes from the club competed exceptionally well in the Connacht Schools multi-events on Tuesday 13th Sept in Dangan, with several personal best performances across the range of events.   Maria McNamara became the seventh juvenile athlete from the club to be selected for international duty when chosen to represent Ireland in the Home Countries International Combined Events where she put in an incredible performance at the weekend to produce 6 new personal bests over the 7 events.
