Dominant Performance by Craughwell AC at Day 2 of Galway XC Championships

Dominant Performance by Craughwell AC at Day 2 of Galway XC Championships

Noah and his Ark wouldn’t have been out of place in Athenry today such was the steady downpour that rained down for most of the day. With many sporting events cancelled on the day including the senior hurling semi-final between Craughwell and Clarinbridge, Galway’s juvenile cross country warriors made light of the weather conditions to put in some fine performances. It was yet another day to remember for Craughwell AC who dominated the boys‘events and came close to repeating this…

Day 2 of Galway Cross Country

Day 2 of Galway Cross Country

Day 2 of the Galway cross country takes place in Athenry tomorrow at 1pm sharp. Please be there in plenty of time as there is limited car-parking and Athenry is going to be real busy with the County Senior hurling semi-finals on there later on. I won't say much about the Craughwell-Clarinbridge match at 3.30pm … just that may the best team win and that the pitch and sidelines remain relatively peaceful! Directions to the cross-country course which is beyond…

Craughwell On Top on Day 1 of Galway Cross Country

Craughwell On Top on Day 1 of Galway Cross Country

Day 1 of the Galway cross-country championships kicked off on the windswept hills of Bushfield on Sunday. It felt like one was standing on the sand-dunes overlooking a stormy Atlantic such was the wind and rain that gradually strengthened as the day went on. But hats off to host club Loughrea AC (not that anyone could keep a hat on today), it’s a fantastic venue and the envy of every other club in Galway and probably Connacht.
