The local Community Games were held on the May bank holiday monday and for the 2nd year in a row, the weather took a turn for the worse during the events and dampened our spirits! Nonetheless, there was a good turnout with alot of enthustiastic performances despite the conditions. Results were as follows:-

Impressive U11s Performances in Dangan!

With 50 entered competitors, Craughwell A.C.’s u11s group were the county’s largest club group in any age-group last Saturday. Of those 50, more than half were from schools outside Craughwell N.S. and it is the parents of many of some of these new children who have directly contributed to our under 11s sweeping the (medal) board in Javelin and Long Jump through their input at thursday training. U9s Debut in Dangan!

Not even the wet, miserable morning could dampen the spirits of the youngest Craughwell AC athletes as the U9s took to the stage for their track and field debut in Dangan on Saturday. They all arrived bright and early and the enthusiasm from them all was a joy to see, particularly for their coaches. Craughwell Excel at Day 1 of Galway Track & Field

  Craughwell AC dominated the first day of the Galway Track and Field with the U9-12 ages featuring on the winners podium no less than 60 times during the day taking home 20 Galway titles, 21 sets of silver and 19 sets of bronze. Please mind your possessions in your cars when your training/running.  There has been a number of break in’s at club houses, community centres, car parks etc over the summer months.  It’s best not to leave any valuables/posessions in your vehicles while your training/running etc.  Always take the key of your car with you while you train/run if at all possible.
