So, here I was at the start line of my first Craughwell 10 wearing a Craughwell AC singlet, but a complete stranger-almost. Having only joined the club 3 weeks ago I hoped this would be a successful homecoming. Jerry Leaps to National Silver!

Jerry Keary was the pride of the club on Saturday when he jumped a brilliant 1.70m to take the silver medal in the U16 boys high jump, in the process eclipsing the previous club best in this age group by 10cm. Jerry got off to a wobbly start knocking 1.55m on his first attempt and then proceeding to clear 1.60 and 1.65 on his first attempt. Another Great Weekend for Peter and Damian

It was another great weekend for club stalwarts Peter O’Sullivan and Damian Larkin, who both were to the fore again.  Peter took on the might of Masters athletes all over Ireland, and finished superbly – taking Gold in the M40 1500 (4.10) and Silver in the M40 800m (2.03).  The 1500m (pictured above) in particular was a great run, as a storming finish saw him finish a convincing winner ahead of all the M35s as well as the M40s in…

With just over a week to go, places are filling up fast for the sixth Annual Craughwell 10 mile road race. The race takes place Sunday the 22nd of March at 1pm. The men’s course record is currently held by Sean Connolly of Tallaght AC in a time of 49:12, while the women’s course record is held by Eilish Kelly of Raheny Shamrock AC in a time of 57:44.
