Jamie Wins National 10k Silver!

He’s gone an done it again! Jamie Fallon was second home out of over 1300 runners in the  National 10k Championships in Phoenix Park on Saturday morning.  Jamie ran a fantastic new personal best of 30:57 on the hilly course, just 8s behind the winner, Olympian Mick Clohissey.  Mick went out hard – covering the first 3km in 8:50 before settling down and grinding out the miles. Craughwell AC’s younger age groups descended on Athlone IT in their scores for the rescheduled Galway Indoor Championships where were held on Sunday for the U9, U10 and U11 age groups. Due to the pandemic, it was the first indoors championships for most of these athletes with only a small number of the U11 group having competed here 2 years ago as U9s. In a tough “links” cross country course in Wales, Declan O’Connell had the race of his life representing Ireland and Clarin College Athenry in the SIAB Schools International Cross Country.
