Huge Success at Day 1 of National Indoors

The first weekend of the National Indoor Track and Field Championships took place on Saturday and there were some great results for Craughwell AC Athletes. The first weekend was mainly relays, but there were also some field events.  Craughwell AC got this years Nationals off to a fantastic start with TWO Gold Medals, ONE Silver and a host of top-6 performances. In Liverpool on saturday, Declan O’Connell lined up to represent Ireland and Clarin College Athenry in the SIAB International Schools Cross Country.  Declan’s strong team of eight stood against the best of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.  The course was pancake flat and relatively dry which some people might think means “easy” but experienced cross coutnry runners will know it brings its own challenges – namely speed and leg turnover!.
