The Irish Milers Club kicked off in force with the Belfast meet and the event was another classic show of the best of Irish and UK Talent. A small group from the club took part in day 2 of the Dublin Graded Meets on Wednesday in Tallaght in windy and wet conditions. Jamie Fallon had a fine run in the men’s 1500m race, staying in the pack for the early laps before moving into the lead at the bell and outkicked from around 150m out to take a fine 2nd place in an impressive 4:00.11 in the windy conditions. Congratulations to Jack Miskella who set a fine new outdoor Personal Best of 1:54.67 at the first Dublin Graded Meet in UCD’s fantastic new track. Jack has ran slightly faster indoors last year but this is excellent form at this early stage of the season and bodes well for a great summer of racing for the popular Craughwell man.
The finest student athletes in Ireland went to battle last weekend in the Irish Universities Athletics Association’s National Track and Field Finals. Several Craughwell AC Athletes proudly stepped forward to represent their colleges. The action took place in the fantastic facility of Dundrum South Dublin Athletics Club, surrounded by picturesque Dublin hills.
