For those interested in long jump, a very interesting article in the latest officials newsletter from Athletics Ireland at link below … about Peter O’Connor who held the world record for long jump for 22 years from 1901 to 1923 with a leap of 7.61m, a record which remained as the Irish record for an amazing 89 years until broken in 1990.
