All Ireland Masters and Intermediate XC Next Sunday

These are both very high standard races – Galway will hopefully have a team in the Masters, but unfortunately this year doesn’t seem to have a team in the intermediates or womens races. Matt Lockett from GCH will be attempting to repeat his excellent performance in the Novices and capture a medal – however he will find the going much tougher this time as the standard at the front will be even higher than in Cavan.

In the vets race, Martin McCevilly and Roger Rushe will be dead certs for a medal in their categories. Our own Martin Corcoran has yet to score a medal in this event, though he has been agonisingly close on several occasions. He has been training very hard with this race in mind and we would be all delighted if he manages to pull it off this time. The muckier it is, the better for Martin as he gets even stronger in boggy conditions.
