Participation in the National League was an initiative taken this year by Paul McNamara, Athenry AC. It is proving to be a fantastic success and is a great outlet for the talents of our senior and older juvenile athletes. Its team structure gives a comradery that is sometimes difficult to achieve in individual events. Hopefully this event will become a target for other athletes in the club to represent the county at senior level. As far as I know, once an athlete turns 16 years of age, they are eligible to participate in senior competition and eligible for selection on the Galway senior team.

Well done to all involved!
