Craughwell AC is proud to announce we have been approved to run an Athletics Ireland supported training programme Fit4lLife. One of only thirty clubs picked to pilot the scheme nationwide.

We will be offering this programme as a new recreational branch of the already established club.  The focus will firmly be on recreational walkers and joggers as opposed to competitive activities.

Our aim is to give the absolute beginners a chance to avail of the club’s facilities, contacts, and knowledge base and to encourage basic exercise in a safe environment with the opportunity to meet other like-minded people. We believe there is a growing needs to make exercise a regular part of everyone’s life and not just elite athletes.

The club will run an initial pilot course for Ten weeks starting on Tuesday the 6th of November At 8.30pm meeting at Craughwell National School.

The course will cost 15euro to existing club members 35euro to new members and for the more adventurous 50 euro including a specific 7-week schedule to prepare for Athenrys’ by now famous St. Stephens day “Fields of Athenry10 k” walk/run.

What you get for your money. We have a team of four coaches both male and female dedicated to this programme all involved in athletics from beginner to veteran, so no shortage of experience, encouragement and genuine advice.
