On Sunday the finals of the National league took place in Tullamore and Galway had two teams featuring several Craughwell Athletes.  The National League is a team event where teams compete across the full range of disciplines with points awarded based on position. Brilliant performances in National League Rd. 2

Round 2 of the National League took place in Athlone in surprising sunshine today and several Craughwell AC Athletes delivered fine performances representing Galway County.  The atmosphere was very chilled but there were some exciting battles in all events as teams strove to make the finals in two weeks time. On the weekend when the curtain fell on a fantastic world championships in Eugene Oregon with incredible world records shattered in 400mh, 100mh and Pole Vault, our own Craughwell AC records were being re-written left and right here at home! Kyle and Paddy Win Bronze at u23 Outdoors

On Sunday the under 20 and under 23 National Championships took place and there were three top competitors from Craughwell AC.  Conditions were far from ideal for distance running with sweltering heat conditions driving the temperatures close to 30 degreee centigrade. The fantastic wind-blocking hedges in Tullamore served equally well as heat concentrators and the track was quite an oppressive place to run laps on Sunday. Temperatures soared in Tullamore as Craughwell AC headed in droves to the third and final weekend of the all-Ireland. Kilduff leads Triple-Gold on Day-3 of Nationals

On Sunday the Sun baked down as the great action continued in Tullamore. This was another outstanding day for Craughwell. The 250m Hurdles was very successful for Craughwell as Lauren Kilduff ran away from the field to claim an outstanding Gold in the u15s, absolutely nailing the tactics set out by her coach Ronnie Warde.  Lauren closed in 36.58s, almost two seconds faster than her qualifying time.  Conor Penney showed increasing comfort with the longer distance, winning Bronze with a…

Record-Breaking Penney heads brilliant Week 1 of Nationals

The first of three weekends of National Track and Field championships took place in Tullamore last weekend and there were some exceptional performances from the Craughwell AC Athletes who qualified via the Connachts.  In all, the club recorded 4 Gold Medals, three Silver and a Bronze.
