Barbara Huffs and She Puffs …
But she doesn’t flood our tartan!
Pictured below at 10am this morning as Barbara rained down on Craughwell is the part of the school track and roadway near the pedestrian entrance to the track. As you see there is water everywhere.
And pictured next is our porous tartan sprint area and high jump area … same conditions, no water!!
But a note to all of our members – we need to keep it clean of all dirt and as much as possible the sand from the long jump. Since its a porous tartan surface, any dirt or sand will be washed down into it and will eventually block it and cause the water to stay on the surface. We will be figuring out some solution for the sand to help keep it off the tartan but we are really relying on coaches to ensure their athletes respect the tartan and not to go on it after being on the grass. Do it the other way around if using both or bring 2 sets of footwear.
