Big PB for Gardiner as Thornton blazes Hollymount
News just coming in of a sensational run by Gary Thornton in the challenging Hollymount 10k road race – he came first in an awesome time of 29:59. It's been a long time since I can remember 30 minutes being broken in a connaught road race so this is a superb achievement for the GCH athlete.
GCH were close second team to Sligo on 32 points (same points as Sligo but based on the relative positions of their 4th placed runner). Mayo were just behind on 33 – what a race.
The Craughwell results are below:
Posn. | No. | Time | Name |
7 | 181 | 34.28 | Martin Corcoran |
38 | 298 | 40.12 | Gabriel Gardiner |
51 | 218 | 42.17 | Liam Nolan |
56 | 300 | 43.09 | Diarmuid Quill |
Sensational running again from Martin Corcoran who completely ignores father time. Special mention has to go to Gabriel Gardiner who delivered something really special yesterday. This is a huge PB for Gabriel and well deserved reward for a great years training. It's not that logn ago since Gabriel was running 46 adn 47 minutes so to come this close to the magical 40 minute barrier is an awesome achievement. Well done all.
