The Connacht Uneven ages Cross Country took place on Sunday morning in Ballinrobe Racecourse. The weather was bright and the footing good as the finest Athletes from the West competed over various distances on the fast flat course. Mathys wins 100th 5km Series as Tony is last man Standing!

The emphasis of the 5km series is participation and fun, but Mathys Bocquet showed that running fast can be fun too with a superb 15:36 clocking, one of the fastest times ever posted on the rolling course (only bettered by Gerry Ryan’s 15:34 in 2009). There was a fantastic silver medal for Conor Penney at the National Senior Championships with flawless first time clearances of 1.90 1.95 2.00 2.05 in miserable wet conditions in Santry. Saturday evening was slightly muggy and breezy for the 2024 Dunshaughlin road race. Dunshaughlin is probably the highest standard 10km road race in Ireland and this year was no exception with over 230 runners breaking the magical 40 minute barrier.
