Field of Dreams Becoming Reality!

Yesterday marked another historic day for the club with the completion of the line-marking on our 6-lane 400m track and our adjoining 6-lane 110m sprint track. It is possibly the only track in the country where 12 sprinters could line up in individual lanes in the same race. Craughwell AC’S Young Stars Shine in Tullamore

The club’s younger ages groups were in super form yesterday in Tullamore for the U9-13s National Track & Field Championships. The U11s led the way on this occasion with Conor Mannion and Jack Hibbitt in sparkling form in the U11 paired 600m competition when racing to fantastic times of 1:52.00 for Conor (3rd in his heat) and a 1:54.65 PB for Jack (4th in his heat). The National league is an annual team event where clubs and counties compete over the full range of athletic events. This year it consists of two rounds, and the preliminary round took place in the fantastic new Morton Stadium Saturday in stunning sunshine and thunderous downpours. Cracking racing at DSD 2023

The action continued in June with some cracking races at the DSD Games, held on their spectacular new track on 18-June. The DSD Campus is about 25 Acres of heaven and the ideal place imaginable for an athletic facility. There are wooded trails, streams, wildlife, wild flowers and a sublime track. The finest School athletes in Ireland travelled to Tullamore on Saturday for the Irish School Track and Fields finals and it didn’t disappoint.  Presentation College Athenry’s Evan Hallinan won the high-Jump with an outstanding 1.95m leap, just 1 cm off his personal best.
