A small group of Craughwell AC’s leading athletes made the trip to Santry for the AAI Games recently with some excellent performances.
Cathriona Farrell commenced her outdoor season with a new outdoor PB and club record of 1.80m in the women’s high jump. Cathriona has been jumping in and around the 1.80m consistently now and with a solid half-year of training behind her since resuming the sport seriously last September, can look forward with excitement to the rest of the outdoor season.
Conor Duggan set a new club record in the 100m in a time of 11.12s with Aidan Conneely also recording a PB of 11.54s. It won’t be long now (or maybe we’re there already!) before Conor is the 2nd fastest Galway man ever after Paul Hession!
Conor Gillen raced to a PB of 2.01.18 in the 800m while Damian O’Boyle did likewise in the 1500m in an time of 4.04.45, bettering his recent time at the Irish Milers meet in Greystones by 3 hundreths of a second!
