Community Health and Wellbeing Board

Community Health and Wellbeing Board

Craughwell AC marked World Mental Health day in collaboration with Mental Health Ireland, HSE and Galway Sports Partnership when they came together to launch the “Community Health and Wellbeing Board” initiative.

The initiative has two main aims; to raise awareness of a range of local and national Mental Health supports and services in sports clubs and community groups across Galway city and county, and to promote awareness and engagement in the Five Ways to Wellbeing, which are five simple evidenced based actions that we can all put into practice in our lives to promote and improve our wellbeing.

The club is delighted to be part of the initiative and the “Community Health and Wellbeing Board” will be on permanent display outside the equipment shed at the end of our sprint track and at Coleman’s track. It includes many useful phone numbers for organisations that can help people.

Miles for Your Mind

On a related note – a big thanks and a massive well done to all those who came to our mental health awareness run today. Thank you to Nicola from Mental Health Ireland, Jane Ann Meehan Physioflex for the warm up, Eimear O’Leary for our fantastic yoga session and of course our very own chairperson Aoife Mullane & John Ward for hosting the event at Coleman’s field with some very welcome teas coffees and goodies. Thank you especially to all our lovely members who came and took part. The weather couldn’t have been better and the company was great. #worldmentalhealthday2021
