Connacht Unvens and Intermediate Cross Country

Connacht Unvens and Intermediate Cross Country

Best of luck to all of our athletes competing in the Connacht Unevens and Cross Country Championships tomorrow in St Marys Galway.

For those not familiar with it, St Marys is not far from the main entrance to the University College Hospital in Newcastle – continue along the Newcastle road in the direction of Salthill and St Marys is on the right hand side about a quarter mile from the hospital entrance.

The juvenile races will start at 1pm sharp so please try to be there by noon to get your race number, warm up and jog the course. The order of the races will be as follows:-

·         Girls U11 1500m
·         Boys U11 1500m
·         Girls U13 2500m
·         Boys U13 2500m
·         Girls U15 3500m
·         Boys U15 3500m
·         Girls U17 4000m
·         Boys U17 5000m
·         Girls U19 4000m
·         Boys U19 6000m
·         Women Inter 5000m
·         Men Inter 8000m

A map of the course is below, with a 500m loop and a 1500m loop. Generally the small loop is ran first, e.g. for 2500m it would be 2 small loops and then a big loop.

And just some news hot off the press, a big well done to Peter O'Sullivan who placed 5th in the O35 category at the British & Irish Masters Cross Country in Belfast today – a fantastic achievement from our senior men's team captain! More on this as soon as the results are available.
