Craughwell AC Golf Classic a Fantastic Success!
The club’s inaugural golf classic was a great success with 52 teams taking part and overall victory going to the team of Catherine Cleary, Helen Shaughnessy, Mary Jennings and Ronnie Norris with an impressive score of 102 points. The winning team had a choice of first prize from a range of impressive prizes including green fees, accommodation and lunch at Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club (sponsored by Twomey Moran Ltd), green fees and lunch at Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg (sponsored by the golf club and by Liam & Alison Finn), green fees at Gort Golf Club and B&B in the Lady Gregory Hotel, green fees at Loughrea Golf Club and lunch in Maggie Mays, green fees and lunch at Athenry Golf Club, green fees and lunch at Portumna Golf Club, green fees at a number of other golf clubs including Ballinrobe Golf Club, Castletroy Golf Club and Woodstock Golf Club, framed golf prints from Cregal Art, golf lessons from Rob Hogan Golf Academy, car services from Pat Slevin.

Winners of Inaugural Craughwell AC Golf Classic 2014
The club wishes to congratulate all of the prize winners and would also like to thank the many sponsors of prizes, greens and tee boxes and also the sponsors of the prizes for nearest the pin and longest drives (John Butler Physio, Tranquillity Leisure & Spa, Paul Anthony Hair Salon and Fat Tony’s Barber Shop). The nearest the pin prizes were won by Marie Kelly and Robbie Lyons while the longest drives were won by Patricia O’Hehir and Edwin McGrath.
Finally the club would like to thank the many teams who took part in the golf classic. All of the funds raised go directly towards the purchase and development of an 8-acre site adjacent to the local primary school which will be an invaluable asset for the club and the community, both young and old in the years ahead.
