Craughwell AC well-represented in Spar Mile Challenge
The club was well represented last weekend in the Athletics Ireland/Spar Mile Challenge which took place on Saturday in Dangan.
The widely promoted event didn't bring out as many runners as anticipated but nevertheless it was an enjoyable experience for all who took part – with the opportunity to record an official mile time on a course that was painstakenly measured earlier in the week by Galway AAI (4 hours of measuring!).
Craughwell AC was well represented with 14 members of juvenile/senior clubs taking part. We were lucky with the weather – after a week of miserable weather, the sun shone for the entire morning. There were some fantastic times recorded, by particularly by members of the juvenile club – many of whom were running their first mile race.
