Craughwell Seniors Victorious in the Banner County

Craughwell’s senior track & field team kept up their preparations last week for the club’s debut in the National League this coming weekend. Under the stewardship of team managers Peter O’Sullivan and Diarmuid Quill, some of the team travelled to Ennis Track for the Clare Championships and put in some remarkable performances, taking home a carload of medals in the process. There was a nice blend of youth and experience as 3 of our U18s and 1 of our U16s made the trip to Ennis .

 

Performance of the day was Niall Higgins' 23.9 seconds for the 200m – equalling the club record held by William Finnegan. Full results of Craughwell athletes performances were as follows:-

The final day of the Clare T&F Championships takes place tomorrow, Thursday the 10th June, with the following events available:- 5000m, discus, 400m, 56lbs for distance, 4 x 100m relay.

This is a nice lead-up to the Galway Senior Track & Field Series which takes place on the following 3 Thursdays in Dangan.
