Craughwell to Host Day 2 of County XCountry
Our new grounds – click to enlarge
Craughwell AC has been selected by the Galway County Board to host day 2 of the Galway County Cross-country Championships on Sunday October 11th commencing at 1pm. This is very exciting for the club and while we have hosted the championships twice before in this very field, this is the first time that the club will have ever hosted an event on property that it owns!
With this in mind, it will be an historic occasion and we would love our juveniles to share in the history of the occasion by taking part. You don’t have to be a distance runner to jog around for 10 or 20 minutes to complete the course and be part of history. So even if you are not into cross-country, have a think about participating and being part of a great occasion and just jog around for the taking part.
The event will kick off at 1pm with races in the following order over the distances indicated below:-
U9 Girls 800m | U9 Boys 800m |
U11 Girls 1500m | U11 Boys 1500m |
U13 Girls 2500m | U13 Boys 2500m |
U15 Girls 3500m | U15 Boys 3500m |
U17 Girls 4000m | U17 Boys 5000m |
U19 Girls 4000m | U19 Boys 6000m |
The outline of the course is below. Click to enlarge.
And for those from other clubs who have never had the pleasure of being in Craughwell, directions to the course are below. Parking will be in the GAA grounds adjacent to the school grounds and the cross country course is adjacent to both the school grounds and the GAA grounds:-
