Craughwell’s Juveniles and Seniors Shine at Maree 8k

Craughwell AC's juveniles and seniors put in some fantastic performances in the Maree 8k at the weekend. Peter O'Sullivan took 4th place in a time of 27.07 with the in-form Jason Broderick snapping on his heels in 5th place in 27.09 and the club's exiled Tommy Niland home from the UK to take 8th place in 28.28.
Also snapping on the heels of these seniors, there were some incredible performances from 14-year olds Conor Gillen who was 12th in a time of 28.57, Nicholas Sheehan 27th in 31.12 and Matthew Moran 28th in 31.14, and an exceptional run also from 12-year old James Delaney who finished 177th in 40.15 amongst the 300+ finishers. While this distance isn't all that suitable for these young athletes, running it for fun once a year is great encouragement for them as it gives them an opportunity to see just how good they are when up against other regular runners.
There were many other participants from the club in action – full results can be found at:-
