Directions to Ballina Cross Country

This weekend's cross country takes place in Beleek, Ballina commencing at 1pm sharp with the U12 girls race. Its approximately a 2-hour journey but allow extra 15 minutes for getting lost! Athletes should aim to be there by noon.

Remember that the clocks change on Saturday night!!

The easiest route to take is via the N17 as far as Kilkelly and turn left there, i.e:-
– Athenry
– Tuam
– Claremorris bypass
– Knock bypass
– Kilkelly bypass (go into Kilkelly and turn here for Swinford)
– Swinford
– Foxford
– Ballina

There is another route but its a little more complicated:
– Athenry
– Tuam
– Claremorris bypass
– Knock bypass (turn off bypass for Kiltimagh)
– Kiltimagh
– Bohola
– Foxford
– Ballina

Ballina AC have indicated that once you enter Ballina, there will be signs for ATHLETIC to direct to the course … so keep an eye out for them.

The following is from http://www.belleekcastle.com/. The cross country course is immediately after that stone gate/arch marked on the map.
