Festive Fun run report
by Maria Gorman Aged 8
I arrived down at the track, other people were arriving too. We were getting ready to run the fun run. We all walked down to the start line. We had a choice of 1km or 2km and I decided to run two kms which is five laps. Before we started we sang a happy birthday to Stephen.
The whistle blew and away we went. Everyone was wearing something Christmassy and they all were having great fun. I got a bit tired on my last lap and my face actually went a bit red. My little sister Olivia went a few laps as well and she stopped a few times but she is only 3.
When we finished we got cups of sweets and some juice. And after the adults race they had mulled wine an apple punch. I tasted the hot apple punch and it tasted nice. Olivia was messing with the sand trying to make a sandcastle. My mammy ran about 4km in the adult fun run. Daddy was busy talking with lots of people I didn’t know.
