Fantastic fit4fun Camps!
The final week of Craughwell AC’s Fit4fun Summer Camp took place earlier this month at the astroturf where 64 children took part in a wide range of athletics activities and other sports. The intermingling of coaching the athletic disciplines such as long jump and high jump with fun activity games proved to be highly successful and the feedback from parents and participants was extremely positive. This was the club’s first year organising the camps and the club would like to thank the coaches and parents who helped to make the 3 weeks such a wonderful success in particular Alison Finn, Bridie Farrell and Mark Gillen who helped supervise the running of the camps, Cathriona Farrell, Niall Rooney, Tomas Keehan and Yasmine Tobin who were the main leaders for the 3 weeks, and the other secondary school athletes who assisted with coaching at various stages over the 3 weeks. I still have to complete the important task of issuing certificates to the participants – which I hope to do in the next week or so. Thanks for participating and hopefully the camps will be even bigger and better next year. And I encourage everyone who took part to continue their interest in the sport by coming up to athletics training in the Autumn if you have the time. I will be publishing the Autumn training times shortly on this website. |
