This year's eagerly awaited Galway Primary Schools Cross Country takes place in Renmore on Tuesday 28th September commencing at noon. This has been an increasingly popular event each year for primary schools, growing to almost 900 children last year – easily the largest mass participation event for juveniles in County Galway. In fact, the club has an enviable record in the event, with teams from Craughwell NS, Ballymana NS, Oranmore Boys NS and Killeeneen NS featuring in the medals on a regular basis every year and in the past 4 years taking 15 of the 16 Galway team titles on offer and going on to take the Connacht title on a frequent basis:

• In 2009, Oranmore (2), Craughwell and Ballymana had a clean sweep of the 4 Galway titles

• In 2008, Craughwell took 2 of the 4 titles and Oranmore took 1.
• In 2007, again the club had a clean sweep of the team titles with Craughwell taking 2, Oranmore 1 and Killeeneen 1.
• In 2006, Craughwell NS took all 4 titles by itself!
