Gerry Ryan selected for Ireland
Congratulations to Gerry Ryan who has been selected as captain of one of the Irish Masters teams to compete in the British & Irish Masters Cross Country in Santry on 13th November.
The selection was based on an outstanding performance from Gerry in the recent Gerry Farnan cross country in Dublin where he finished 15th in an elite group of athletes in a time of 25:50. This follows a string of fine performances from Gerry in cross country and road races, including victory in the recent Ballina 10k in a time of 30.36.
Also in outstanding form recently, Peter O'Sullivan placed 47th in the Gerry Farnan cross country in a time of 27:17 – a fantastic performance and 7th overall in the O35 category, a performance which has resulted in Peter being named as first reserve on the 6-person O35 international team.
A big well done to both athletes!! Congratulations also to Athenry AC's Paul McNamara who was selected for the O35 international team following a 12th place finish in the Gerry Farnan, and to GCH's Martin McEvilly who was selected for the O60 team.
Good luck to everyone in Santry on Nov 13th!
