Good times at Galway Track & Field Day 2
Day 2 of the Galway Track & Field was held last Tuesday. The results are here. Some video I took from my phone is below for those that missed it. The performance of the night was probably from Ferghal Geraghty of GCH who won the 1500m with style. Our own Peadar Harvey was hot on his heels for much of it but ran out of steam on the last couple of laps, however he still won the Junior medal easily..
Not captured on video, Liam Nolan had a great run in the Masters 200m sprint, winning the event easily. Cathriona Farrell cleared a fine 1.65 despte and was seemed to be jumping well within herself at that. To put in perspective, 1.65 would have been good enough for a Silver medal in the national Senior Championships last weekend! Also some great performances from Katie O’Donoghue who is really sprinting well to win the Junior women’s and Rachel Finnegan who won the seniors just ahead of her sister. Sarah Finnegan also won the senior Javelin with 15m. Well done all!
The third and final day is on next Tuesday and will feature, among other things a 5k race which is a great opportunity to set a pb on an inarguably accurate course! See you there!
