We are in the final week leading into the club’s Christmas Night at the Dogs Fund-raiser on Saturday 29th November. The club is holding this fundraiser in conjunction with Craughwell National School and Craughwell United FC to raise funds for the continued development of the astro-turf and related athletics facilities which the 3 groups operate under the umbrella organisation Craughwell Community Sports Group. 

Most recent developments include the provision of an additional tarmacadam car-park, a footpath leading to the main gates of the astro-turf and a tartan run-up to the long jump, enclosed on either side by concrete footpaths. 

The night is doubling up as a Christmas social night out for parents and the community.

We still have over 150 tickets to sell, so are appealing to parents, members of the community and fellow sportspeople to support this night by either buying tickets themselves or selling them to their friends or family.

It has the triple benefit of being a good social night out (admission to the dogs + finger food), entry to the Buster Draw for €1500 and 5 lucky dip draws for €100 each, and raising much needed funds for our shared facilities. Doors open at 6.30pm and the upstairs lounge will be kept private to our group until 8pm, with finger food been served around 7.30pm. 

The benefit which Craughwell AC, Craughwell FC and Craughwell NS derive from the astro-turf and associated facilities is immense. Without the hard-work of the committee which runs the facility and without your financial support, this sports facility would not exist. Nobody is going to provide you or your children with facilities unless you take action yourself. We can moan all we like about lack of State funding for sports and we will still be moaning in 20 years time – the only people that can make it happen are you and your community.
