Jamie the Silver (mud) Surfer in Cork!
National Novices Silver medalist Jamie Fallon headed to Cork in determined mood and did his utmost to win a title on Sunday. The course was flat, with just a couple of drags but going was incredibly sticky all the way underfoot. He led the field for about 3 of the 4 laps but just wasn’t feeling 100% once he started running and got caught on the 3rd lap by a hard charging Evan Fitzgerald who timed his push brilliantly. In the end, Jamie did amazingly to hold on for Silver in a fantastic battle with Eoin Smyth who he managed to hold off by just 2s.

He came looking for a title but was delighted to come away with a national medal on an off day, as well he should be!! As Brian Fay said when caught running his amazing 5k indoor 13:24 this weekend – “you have to risk it for a biscuit!”.
