I got an email this week from an old schoolmate of mine – Johnny Donnelly, former sawdoctors drummer and very active member of the drama and music scene around Galway.  As you might know he has undertaken a massive challenge to raise money and awareness for the Seachange Foundation.  The challenge is to run a massive 60 marathons in 4 years.  A tremendous task for anyone.  Even by the time he was in first year in secondary school Johnny was quite the celebrity among his classmates – playing the drums and running marathons from 13 years of age and just generally daring to be different and do his own thing. 

Johnny is looking for people to accompany him for the Dublin Marathon this year – he wants to get 100 runners to take part in his team. I am not planning on a marathon myself this year (might change my mind!), but if you are thinking of doing one take some time to check out the run johnny run website, investigate the seachange foundation and consider being a part of his team.
