Junior/Juvenile Athletics AGM

Junior/Juvenile Athletics AGM

The AGM of Craughwell AC's junior/juvenile section will take place on Wednesday 26th January at 8.30pm in the upstairs meeting room in St. Michael's Hall. Please note that its on the same night as bingo in the hall so you may have to park down the village a little.
It is hoped that parents will show their support for the efforts of the committee and coaches by attending the AGM.

2010 was the club's biggest and best year to date. The club's focus on fostering a strong spirit of particpation resulted in a membership of over 400 juvenile athletes at the end of 2010. And it was our most successful year to date in competition also. Its fantastic to have such numbers in the club but it greatly increases the pressures on coaches to run succesful training sessions.
We're lucky that we have a great bunch of parents who get involved in helping out at training – but we always need more. So don't be shy!!!! Consider volunteering to help!
The benefits are immense and include
– long nights spent at the astroturf in sub-zero temperatures
– free showers on many winter (and summer) evenings
– long days at athletic tracks all over the country
– free mud-baths at cross country races in the autumn
Only joking of course, you have to pay to get into the mud-baths and it doesn't rain that much so you don't get the free showers!

Seriously though, its a great sport and great club to get involved in. There is a real sense of participation and a place for athletes of all levels. The large numbers of children involved are testament to this. And the longer you are involved, the greater the interest you take and the more pride you take when athletes you coach achieve new personal bests or finish on the winners podium.
So come along to the AGM next Wednesday to hear more about the club and ask any questions you want. We usually try to keep our AGM short and sweet and won't force anyone into a job against their wishes!
