to place 3rd in the Senior Girls age group
A number of athletes from the club made the short trip to Athlone IT yesterday for the Irish Schools Combined Events where Leanagh Gilligan shined to claim the bronze medal in the Senior Girls Pentathlon.
It was Leanagh’s first individual national medal since soaring to the gold medal in the U12 Girls High Jump in 2013 despite going close on a number of occasions since then. It was so wonderful to see her claim a PB of 1.52m in the high jump and go on to claim the National bronze with performances of 4.90 in the long jump, 5.92 in the shot, 10.93 in the hurdles and 3:02.59 for a total of 2331 points.
