This New Year’s Day Let’s Get Talking Galway, a non profit organisation are hosting a fundraising event in aid of suicide awareness. Let’s Get Talking offer high quality counselling to all and support positive mental health. The aim of the event is to create awareness of this topic which is so prevalent nowadays and raise money so that the services are there for people who may need to avail of it.
We plan to meet at the Lake in Loughrea at 1pm to take the plunge. We’re looking for as many people as possible to come join us. If the idea of getting into the water is too much you can always come and support the rest of us. There will be a selection of tea, coffee, mulled wine and snacks on the day.
That evening Cheevers Bar Craughwell have very kindly offered to host a fun table quiz with all the proceeds going to Let’s Get Talking Galway. Quiz starts at 8pm. €30 for a team of 3 people.
I really hope you will considering supporting the event whatever way you can as its such a worthy cause. It will be a bit of fun meeting up with everyone and a positive way of starting the new year by helping someone else. You never know who in your community that may be suffering from depression, anxiety, suicidal intentions etc. This way we are doing our bit to help provide services for them.
