Craughwell AC U13 4x100m Relay Teams on the Winners Podium!

A large contingent of Craughwell AC athletes descended on Athlone IT International Arena for the 2016 Galway Indoor Track & Field Championships last Sunday. There were many magnificent performances from the club throughout a great day and huge credit it due to all of our coaches for the effort they make in preparing each individual for these comepetitions.

With almost one-third of the participants from the club, this was also reflected in the results where the club did exceptionally well. Its really not about medals on this day though as its a wonderful occasion for the club and to see so many of our athletes taking part to the best of their ability is inspiring. Everyone is a winner for taking part and athletes can take as much pride on getting a personal best as in winning a medal.

A notable performance also on the same weekend came from Jason Broderick in the National Intermediate men’s Cross Country in Dundalk where he placed 12th in an elite field. Also in action in Dundalk, the multi-talented Evan Hallinan and Aoibhe Carr placed 9th and 15th in the National Juvenile B Cross Country in the morning and proceeded to perform brilliantly later in the day in the Indoor Championships in Athlone where both won the high jump titles in their age group!
